I can vaguely remember the first time I discovered Cymbidium orchids,
my first reaction was Breathtaking, unusual and ever so mysteriously
different to anything I had ever seen before..

I could not help myself but to come home with my very own plant the very same day
and a few years on and now I happily hoard a forest of various Cymbidium plants all
many gorgeous shades and sizes..  Love it!

These plants are the only thing to look forward to Winter for!

It has been a while since our last blog post,
well trying to find the time in between kids, family, housework, weddings & consults
is proving quite impossible at the moment..  Not to mention trying to find time for
the hairdressers (so overdue by the way!) and other things a girl should never
talk about ... hehehe..

Sydney Harbour Marriott Wedding - Table Centrepieces & decorations

We used our Tall Pilsner vases with lilies & white roses Table centrepieces
we used a lime green gel with white dendrobium orchids submerged in the vase
as a gorgeous floral feature to compliment the stunning backdrop & curtains of the 
Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel function room


This Wedding was a quiet intimate and very Elegant to say the least!
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and at the end of the night the Flowers

were all swooped up and taken home by the guests - Most people commented on
how lovely the the room looked and the decorations looked so lovely the smell of the 
oriental Lilies filled the room with a deliciously divine scent!

The Bridal table was draped with trailing Ivy & rose petals scatted along  with the added touch of these stunning Silver candelabras & a Long and low table centrepiece adorned the Bridal table beneath the Bride and groom of White oriental Lilies, Roses, Dendrobium orchids, Gladioli & blushing brides.

Mary Immaculate Church Wedding decorations & pew ends

There is something about decorating a beautiful church 

Like Mary Immaculate at Waverely that just brings me such a 

warm & fuzzy feeling of peace..

As soon as you walk into this gorgeous Historical building and 

take in the beauty of the stain glassed windows and Old antique style furnishings & gold finishings you get an overwhelming sense 

that you could possibly be in heaven!

We were very exciting to take a part in the Wedding of Nimali & Joe 

which took place last weekend, Here are some of the photos of the 

final result decorations including pew ends alter arrangements and 

chair covers we provided for their special day.

The theme was very natural & puristic white with draping Ivy..

Last saturday night the Chanele Rose Flowers and styling team decorated the

Waters Edge at Pier One for a Corporate function Awards night..

We provided the chair covers - white draped chair covers with silver

satin sashes, Table arrangements consisted of Fish bowl with candles

and a Floral wreath table centrepiece of White oriental Lilies, Anthuriums, 

Dusty miller, tetra gum nuts, Gerberas, geralton wax and dendrobium orchids.

Chaircovers and Candelabras' decorations at Oliveto Restaurant Rhodes

For those of you that think we only decorate weddings - 
well this could not be further than the truth!

Our team is dedicated to decorating any special event, 
corporate event, or personal party..

Last Sunday, we arranged Chair covers and Candelabra's 
for the lovely Jana - Her sons' Holy Communion after party 
Dinner at Oliveto's restaurant at Rhodes...

She chose a navy blue theme, and while I tried to rack my 
brain as to what flowers to use they were there all along staring me 
in the face.. Ofcourse the Winter Blue Iris & dendrobium Blue orchids..  
Oriental lilies  & baby breath - was so fitting as it was for a young boy!

A touching Ceremony at Our lady of Mount Carmel Parish

The lovely Father Anthony who conducted the ceremony for 
Sharee & Domenic's Wedding last weekend at Mt Carmel 
parish church - Bonnyrigg/ Mt Pritchard  gave us all such a touching 
speech, about Marriage and commitment.  

We enjoyed his talk & blessings and also the loving readings 
by the Bridal party..

Here are some of the highlights of the flowers and decorations 
we did including Pew ends and Alter displays and Bridal party flowers 
that we arranged for this special day!

Pew ends flowers and decorations at Mt Carmel church

Church decorations & Church pew ends

I have attached some of the Church decorations that we set up at St Kiril and Metodij - Macedonian Orthodox Church at Roseberry last weekend included the Pew ends and 

large feature church arrangements

The pew ends with Oriental lilies and magnolia leaves added a touch of elegance to the Church!

We used lilies for the pews, fan palms, snapdragons, carnations,
gymea leaves with long organza bow  set on the tall pedestals

The final outcome was quite lovely!

Tulips Wedding Bridal bouquets with Bling a ling ling...

Tulips or "tulipa" are a bulbous flowering plant. Tulips are the national Flowers of the Netherlands.  I have fond memories of seeing vast, stunning displays of these with the Windmills high above during my past travels through Europe..  

They remind me very much of Spring and are associated widely with Spring Weddings, however they do not like warmer temperatures or heat which causes them to droop and loose their petals so the only time that Tulips can be recommended to be used in Bridal work is Late Autumn and Winter.. as they are so free spirited and grow  even when they are cut blooms the chances of them moving out of place when constructed and fully wired into place for Wedding bouquets is highly likely.

If you had your heart set on a perfectly rounded style posy bouquet it is unlikely 

that will be the case on your actual Wedding date if you want to use Tulips.

However, I think we managed to get these Tulips for Elsas' Weddings pretty close

to a round posy as possible..

Gorgeous Winter blooms - Cymbidium orchid buttonholes & corsages

These delicious Winter blooms are one of my favorites of all time! 

Cymbidium orchids could well be the reason I chose to begin a career in Floristry..

So I have a lot to Thank them for!  Thank you, Thank you dear Cymbids!!

Available predominately between May - September in Australia..

So watch me take advantage of this Winter season to the fullest!!

No I don't like the Winter weather, but if Mother nature will only produce these

flowers at this time then I have decided to stop winging about the freezing cold temperatures

at the moment and instead use it to my advantage!!!

These Cymbidium orchids come in a great range of colours the most popular being an 

- Off White with with a Burgundy throat

- Mauve/ burgundy

- Lime green/ mauve

I simply adore using Cymbidium orchids for Buttonholes not only do they last well but they have such a gorgeous detail

that work perfectly for buttonholes & corsages!

Loving these gorgeous tall Candelabras' we used a draping of Crystals & pearls as embellishments..Flower arrangements on candelabras include Black foliage, calla lillies, Vanda orchids, roses & buxos

60th Birthday party celebrations ..

They were a big Hit!

Had so much fun last weekend putting together these 

Table centrepieces for decorations for Anita & Anthony's Engagement party!!

 

It was a nice change to use these stunning Cognac vases with lavender gel crystals

and pearls- The tall Cognac vase centrepieces included purple hydrangeas,various shades of purple & white Crysanthemums, Alstomeria & Dusty Miller silver suede foilage..

The Table centrepiece in front of the couple included Kale, White oriental lillies, Chrissies, Monteria leaves, Pearls & Dusty miller - we used a dark purple satin table runners with organza overlay..
